If you use the Google Search Console integration (and you should!), you’ll have a new set of reports to publish in your report navigation menu.
Once it’s set up, you’ll see two reports:
- Google organic search traffic report;
- request report.
Notice in the screenshot below that I’ve renamed these reports (using the customizer) to make them a little more meaningful to me, so they’re called “SC: Organic Keywords” and “SC: Landing Page”.
Google Search Console Reports Google Analytics 4.
These reviews show pretty much what you’d expect. The “Landing Page” report shows SEO-specific metrics such as:
- organic Google search clicks;
- organic Google search impressions;
- CTR;
- middle position.

The Queries/keyword report shows the same metrics against the actual search query (as opposed to the landing page in the previous report).

While these reports won’t replace your GSC data, they are a nice addition to GA4, especially when you add secondary web traffic dimensions to your organic search data analysis.
For example, I can break down my searches by device category.

SEO Landing Pages Report
I saved the best for the last section – creating a custom SEO landing page report.
The Landing Page dimension is available by default, but there isn’t (yet) an aggregate report specifically for landing pages, so you’ll need to create it yourself.
Now I want to show you how to customize your landing page report to show only organic traffic.
Of course, you could simply add either the default channel grouping or source/media to your current landing page report. But with a few moments of further customization, you’ll save yourself that click and be able to split your SEO Landing Pages report by an additional dimension in the reporting UI afterwards.
Step 1: Create a new detailed report in the Library section.
Step 2: Next, you’ll need to choose a template to start from. You can choose a blank template or one of the pre-made templates. They will all start as a copy of the core report on the subject area.
For example, the Traffic Acquisition template will be a copy of the Traffic Acquisition report. In this scenario, we’ll start with the Pages and Screens template.

Step 3: Once in the report template, click the Dimensions element in the upper right corner to select additional dimensions to add to the main dimension column.

Then click Add Dimension.

Choose Landing Page from the drop-down list.

Step 4: Once you’ve added the landing page dimension, you’ll want to make it the primary dimension in the report.
To do this, click on the three-dot menu and choose Set as default. Then click Apply to save the changes.

Step 5: Now comes the fun part (everything up until now was just a journey to create a landing page report from scratch!).
Let’s use a brand new GA4 feature called Report Filter to filter this landing page report and show us only the data that comes from organic traffic.

Step 6: When you click the Add Filter button, you will find the condition constructor for the filter settings. For this particular filter, we want:
– choose Include , which works only as an inclusion operator.
– choose the dimension by which we want to filter. In this case, the session’s default channel grouping. Then choose which channels to include from the drop-down list. We will only choose Organic Search .
Press Ok and apply this selection.

It will now filter the landing page report to only show traffic that came from organic search.
A couple of other quick things I like to do with custom reports is change the visual design. I choose to hide the scatter plot and change the bar plot to a line plot. This can be done in the Charts section of the editor.
When you’re done, save the report and give it a name. I call this report the “SEO Landing Pages Review”.
You’ll also know this is a filtered report because there’s a small filter icon in the upper left corner of the report.

Don’t forget to add this new report to one of your report collections in the library so it appears in the left navigation bar.
Hopefully, these short examples of the most common SEO reports will help you become more familiar and comfortable working with GA4!
